Copyediting is where a good manuscript becomes a great one. By the time your book reaches this stage, the big structural decisions are made. What remains is the detailed, precise work of refining every sentence — grammar, punctuation, word choice, consistency, pacing, and style. This is where we ensure your voice is clean, your argument is clear, and your reader never trips over a sentence when they should be turning the page.

The Style Sheet: We create a custom style sheet for your manuscript — documenting every editorial decision we make, so consistency is maintained across every chapter, every character name, every hyphenated compound, every date format. This travels with your manuscript through proofreading and into publication.

Proofreading

Proofreading is the final stage — and it only works if it comes last. By this point, your manuscript has been written, structured, and copyedited. What remains are the details that still slip through: a misspelling on page 47, an inconsistent heading style in chapter 8, a page number that skipped, a graph caption that doesn't match its figure.
